In
between getting ready for the race at LasVegas Motor Speedway
on October 13, team drivers Eddie Bryans, Alex Robertson and
Sandy Bauler have also been doing multiple community fundraisers.
The biggest fundraiser took place last Saturday at "Twilight
at the Ranch" in Poway, California. The event was hosted
by the Toby Wells Foundation, benefiting San Diego Mission
Valley YMCA. The event raised over 60k with Bryans Racing
Enterprises (D2Dracing.com) along with Drivetech Racing School
offering the largest bid package for the evening.
The auction item called "Need for Speed", consisted
of a "ride along", plus a driving School package
and signage on both team cars (NASCAR Southwest Series &
Late Model Sportsman) displaying their charity of choice.
The winning bidder will also be mention in interviews regarding
the race teams documentary airing on A&E on October 18,
2001. This documentary features Sandy's Daughter who is taking
after her mom and getting into a racecar. The documentary
will feature her first race at Cajon Speedway in Southern
California.
Although
Little Richard rocked the evening and appeared for a private
show after the auction, the racing package was still the highlight
of the evening and brought in 10k to benefit youth.
